The Sanitary Board however, had under their consideration at the time a Draft Public Health Ordinance, as reported in my despatch No 259 of 11th August last, and it was thought by the Members of the Board that many of the provisions of the Draft Building Ordinance, referring to drainage, lighting, ventilation, and the open spaces to be compulsorily left around dwellings, would more conveniently and appropriately come under the Health Act. Accordingly the resolution was taken by Government of staying further action in the matter of the Building Ordinance until the completion of the Draft Public Health Ordinance
